Lainie's Angels Sponsors APHON Program

Posted on Mar 21, 2013

Dear Friends of Lainie's Angels,

In 2013, Lainie’s Angels is making it their mission to expand their involvement with organizations that share their same passion for support. While it is the hope of every parent that their sick child will overcome their struggle with disease, we know that reality does not always allow it.

In direct response to these harsh circumstances, Lainie’s Angels will be teaming up with The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) in order to sponsor their End-of-Life Nursing Education course. Any family that has struggled with pediatric cancer knows that their child’s nurses are their primary care-givers in the hospital. That’s why it’s of the utmost importance that nurses, patients and their families are prepared for the emotional end-of-life process.

Lainie’s Angels founder Stathi Afendoulis will be attending the APHON conference in Chicago in June. His goal is to educate the members of APHON at the End of Life Conference on how Lainie’s Angels can help the soon-to-be bereaved parents cope with their loss. Ultimately, Lainie’s Angels would like to incorporate these organizations in the hospital outreach process.
