Twelve years ago today, Lainie left us to become an angel, dying peacefully at home on a beautiful afternoon.
In honoring her memory, I will pay a vist to her grave site, and then go across the street to our church, where I will light a candle and say a prayer, for the repose of her soul, and the souls of so many others who have passed. I will also pray for those families and children who are now fighting cancer and blood disorders, in the hope that God grants them the strength and peace to endure their struggle.
In the twelve years we have been doing the work of parent advocacy and helping families, I have always considered Lainie's Angels to be the one best way to remember Lainie. Her foundation is predicated on celebrating life and giving hope. No matter how difficult the road was during her struggle, Lainie always loved life and had hope. Her spirit lives on in the faces of the families our parent advocates help every day, improving their quality of life, assisting them in the difficult and often times heart-breaking decisions confronting their daily lives. Our advocates are living angels, watching over and protecting those who are in the greatest need. What better way to remember my daughter, than by helping others, as she would have done.
I ask you all to join me today, and remember her and the work we do at Lainie's Angels, in her memory. With love and gratitude for all your support, God bless you all and Happy Father's Day!
